WHAT OUR PATIENTS ARE SAYING:

“I've gotten 2 massages done here (60 minutes and 90 minutes), and one Acupuncture session. The staff here is absolutely fantastic and every person I've interacted with has been wonderful.

Scheduling is a breeze and can be done all online, and they're extremely careful with COVID precautions (patients must wash hands prior to massage, masks on, strong air purifiers in every room)

My massages (a few months apart) were done to address some upper back pain. From start to finish, the staff did an excellent job listening to my issues, gaining an understanding of my history and what I've done for relief. They gave me pointers and exercises to follow to address the upper back pain for the future. The entire massage was something out of this world - having sore and tight muscles that have been causing problems for months to suddenly be addressed, stretched, massaged, is something else. I honestly don't know how they do it but to pinpoint specific muscle fibers and knead/stretch them, is amazing to say the least. Amy performed my acupuncture session.

Walking in, I had no idea what to expect but she put my mind at ease by explaining the process and what acupuncture serves to achieve. Again, this was used to address some upper back pain/trouble sleeping at night. Like the massage therapists, she listened to my history, what I've tried, what my daily schedule looks like, what causes additional, less pain, etc. She started around my shoulders and then moved to my upper back. The process is very much a back and forth between you and the acupuncturist - they'll feel around for trigger points and you let them know when they've found one. Once one has been found, she'll use a very thin needle to address that point. The feeling of that happening is wild, in a good way, all it feels like is there's a bird over your trigger point flapping it's wings. The first couple she hit around my shoulder immediately dropped my pulled-forward shoulder back into place. I was sore the next day, as she mentioned would happen, but the next few days I noticed a definite improvement - much more reduced neck pain, the upper back feels less tense during the day, and my shoulder doesn't feel out of alignment! She provided me with a list of exercises to do throughout the day to also help strengthen my back muscles.

If you've never had a professional massage done, or acupuncture, I absolutely cannot recommend it enough, but definitely make sure it's done by anyone at Pittsburgh Acupuncture and Massageworks! Everyone here is absolutely excellent and you can tell they take an immense about of pride in what they do and it definitely shows - they sincerely care about seeing you get better!”

“Such a great experience…every time! They are sincerely concerned with the patients’ well being and their level of expertise is a necessity for all to experience.”

Our experience was very informative, and pleasant at the same time. Our bodies are feeling better and we will return as recommended. Thank you for accommodating myself and my partner which made it even better.

“I've been meaning to book in for acupuncture for some time (I used to have acupuncture regularly some years back), and today I met with Amy. I walked in stressed, run down, and pretty much feeling resigned to wearing hoodies and sloppy leggings for the rest of my life. 90 minutes later, I practically BOUNCED out.

My only regret was waiting so long to book a session with Amy. It wasn't just the needles or the Gua Sha which Amy did on my back, but the genuine understanding and knowledge that Amy has for what you need. The aches, brain fog, fatigue and "loss" of former athletic ability, seemed to disappear during our consultation, as Amy begun to establish connections with my symptoms (even minor things), and started a plan for healing. This practice is EXCELLENT. Although my first time with Amy, I already see Charles for massages and cupping.

If you haven't tried cupping, have been working at home and slouch over a laptop, I highly recommend it - and definitely book Charles! If you feel awkward or nervous about massages - don't. Charles is welcoming, highly professional - and honestly like visiting a friend. Everyone at the practice is super friendly, and if you can't get a booking, get on the wait list - they are excellent at contacting you (thank you Jeff!).”

I've had massage and cupping sessions with Madeline and Charles. I'll be incorporating these into my wellness plan moving forward. Amazing massages.

Super friendly and knowledgeable! I feel loose as a goose and felt very comfortable in their hands!

This is my favorite place in pittsburgh for massage therapy! it’s very clean, relaxing, and calm in the waiting room and rooms themselves. i’ve had Pat before who did a 90 minutes full body and i left feeling very relaxed and like he listened to the pressure and spots that were bothering me. today i had Madeline who was also a delight. her personal techniques made such a difference in how i felt when i left. she’s very personable and talks you through everything she’s doing. each one of the staff here shines in a specific area so there is always someone for you. and as always Jeff is always very pleasant and accommodating when making appointments.

Maddie is wonderful! She made sure I felt comfortable and safe and we talked through the areas of my body that cause the most pain/discomfort. I feel so much better after my appointment with her.
