What Ian’s Clients are Saying:

“Simply amazing!!!! From the very second you walk into the door. Ian knows the meaning of a deep tissue massage really is. The entire visit was calm, peaceful, and relaxing. But, be aware.. Not only are the massages beyond fabulously addictive, everybody's' personalities are extremely addictive too. You will want to come back...immediately. When they start your first visit, you are a client. Before you are done with your first visit, you are a friend. From your second visit on, you are treated like family. Trust me, you will be back. When you first walk into the office, you are treated by a lady by the name of Sara. Sara is the most down to earth person. Especially before your first visit, she makes sure that you are feeling comfortable and at ease. I love love love everything about this place. Also, this place knows what an hour message is. They know that an hour is 60 minutes. Many place that prep and after prep time from the "hour massage" that you paid for. I wish that I can visit the people and this place every day.”

“A car accident in 2012 left me with chronic neck pain as a result of whiplash. I've had massages and neck therapy over the years that were unable to bring relief. That changed when I had my first appointment with Ian Green at Pittsburgh Acupuncture and Massage Works. Ian's therapy and massage have enabled me to move and turn my neck without fear of debilitating pain. Ian has worked wonders with his therapy and also taught me exercises to help improve my condition. The space at Pittsburgh Acupuncture and Massage Works is so zen and calming, a really wonderful experience. Highly recommend.”

“Ian was incredible!! I'm a ballet dancer, and finding a massage therapist that will work to the level of deepness that I need for my muscles has seemed close to impossible. But now I've found Ian! He did a wonderful job of listening to my needs and really getting into all my knots and pains. He is a very intuitive worker and I had a wonderful deep tissue massage. I will definitely be going back!!”

“I've been going to Pittsburgh Acupuncture and Massage Works for about a month now and every visit I am noticing excellent improvement with my years of dealing with pain. Ian Green is a very gifted massage therapist and is able to find muscles that I could only vaguely describe in referred pain and he knows what I'm talking about and is able to explain how that muscle works in a group and then he works to release the muscle into relaxation. This past Saturday I also did Acupuncture with Amy Green and I'm so happy that I did. I got immediate relief with my neck and shoulders and giant relief of plantar fasciitis pain in my heels.”

“I avoided massage in general for years; I admit I didn't think there was much it could do for me. I had always gotten the impression it was just a thing rich people did to feel pampered and for a dose of oxytocin. Good lord, was I wrong. The work Ian did in one hour was life changing (your results may vary). I came here for my first massage therapy session, and I was... nervous. I wasn't sure what to expect or how to behave, really. I bought the couple's staycation package, so my wife came with me. Ian immediately got down to business of putting us at ease. Getting a massage wasn't awkward at all, despite the fact that I was wearing nothing but a blanket in the room with a complete stranger. We talked and joked, almost like old friends, while my leg and hip got ran through the ringer. One of the best parts was the consultation. He recommended focused work for shorter sessions, especially since we came with specific problem areas and weren't seeking some amorphous sense of relaxation, but relief from specified acute and chronic pain. He also told us that even with this in mind, there's only so much he can do in one hour. With realistic expectations (and a cup of rooibos tea) we got to work. Realistic expectations made this is a very rewarding experience, in my opinion. I don't believe in miracle cures, but after my session I started reading some literature to learn about trigger points. The methods he used on me are backed with hard (yet medically underrepresented) science and while I didn't walk out 100% cured, I noticed measurable improvement in hip rotation and and subjective improvement in lower back pain. I'll be back, for sure.”

I had a great experience. Ian listened to my concerns and after an assessment worked on my problem areas. I have already booked another appointment.

Ian was able to deliver the best therapeutic deep tissue massage I've ever received. As a result I have been able to start functionally rehabilitating a shoulder that has been frozen for years. I'm excited to continue using Pittsburgh Acupuncture & Massageworks in my healing journey!
